Opportunity Description
The Helen Hay Whitney Foundation established to support young researchers in conducting early postdoctoral research training in all basic biomedical sciences.
This fellowship is a competitive program offering a limited number of scholarships for the postdoctoral degrees, aiming to encourage creative thinkers, recognize the passion for scientific discoveries.
Key dates:
- Deadline: June 15 (5:00 pm EST)
- Interview date: Early- Mid October
- Review of personal interview application: November 6
- Final notification date for successful applicants: November 9
- Starting date: April 1, 2021
- End of program: September 1, 2021
Location: USA
Duration: three years
Benefits:
- travel expenses for fellow and his/her family
- travel expenses for two-day meeting held in November
- Annual stipend and research allowance
- First-year, the participant will receive $54000
- Second-year, the participants will receive $57000
- Third-year, the participant will receive $60000
- Research allowance for each year is $1500
- There is a dependent Child allowance of $1500 per annum for each child

Eligibilities:
- Participants must have obtained/ or are their final stage of Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree
- Looking to start their postdoctoral training in basic medical research
- No more than one year of postdoctoral research experience.
- Participant graduation must be within the last two years for Ph.D. and withing the last three years for M.D degrees additionally.
- Must not receive any extensive pre-doctoral or postdoctoral training
- Will attend a two-day annual meeting which will be held in November of each year
