Opportunity Description
Chinese Government Scholarships are offered for international students at Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU), located in Harbin, for 2026. This scholarship is for non-Chinese High-Level Postgraduate Students who are willing to pursue studies in China. Master’s and PhD applicants from around the world, except China, are eligible to apply.
About NEAU
Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU) is located in Harbin, known as China’s “Ice City,” and is a key university under the administration of Heilongjiang Province. It is among the first institutions selected for the national “211 Project” and is also included in China’s “Double First-Class” initiative, reflecting its strong academic standing and national importance.
The university comprises 17 colleges and one teaching department, offering a comprehensive education system spanning undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels. NEAU hosts 10 postdoctoral research stations and two postdoctoral workstations, along with 12 first-level doctoral programs, 21 first-level master’s programs, and a wide range of professional degree options.
With 75 undergraduate majors, NEAU offers a wide range of disciplines, including agriculture, engineering, science, economics, management, and literature. Scholarship Benefits

Who can apply?
Applicants who meet the following requirements can apply for the Chinese Government Scholarships:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens
- Must hold a valid passport.
- Applicants must be in good physical health and meet national health examination requirements.
- Educational background and age limits:
- Master’s degree applicants: Bachelor’s degree and under 35 years old.
- Doctoral degree applicants: Master’s degree and under 40 years old.
- Applicants must demonstrate strong scientific research ability and solid research skills.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following application requirements:
- Notarized highest academic qualification
- Notarized academic transcripts: Highest-level transcripts (Bachelor’s degree and above, if applicable; Chinese or English).
- Study / Research Plan: Minimum 1,000 words, written in Chinese or English.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: Issued by professors or associate professors in the relevant field.
- Valid Passport: Passport must be valid until at least September 2026.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Record: Copy submitted; original kept by applicant. Must be completed in Chinese or English and is valid for 6 months.
- Proof of Language Proficiency
- Chinese-taught programs: Valid HSK Level 4 certificate.
- English-taught programs: TOEFL ≥95 or IELTS ≥6.5.
- Native English speakers are exempt from English proficiency proof.
- Academic Publications or Achievements (if applicable)
- Supervisor’s Acceptance Letter (if applicable)
- Certificate of No Criminal Record
