Who can apply?

• Be a citizen of a country other than China (Chinese citizen should have a foreign passport with a record of living more than two year abroad)
• Have a good health situation
• Have no criminal record
• Be at between 18 to 35 years for master degree and 40 or below for PhD
• Master degree applicants should have a bachelor degree and PhD applicants should have a master’s degree.
• Have language English language proficiency, demonstrating one of the following evidence:
  • (IELTS 6, TOEFL 85)
  • Be a native English speaker
  • Taken a degree program in English
• have a strong academic background and innovative research capabilities.

Apply to Chinese Government Scholarship

Choose Type B, and the Agency Number is 10533.

• After applying to Chinese government scholarship, you need to apply at CSU China international student service

Apply to CSU.   Choose Chinese Government Scholarship and fill in the application form and submit it. THIS IS A MUST STEP!

• Pay the Application Fee of 500 RMB (90 Dollars) and Mail Hardcopies of Material and submit the application materials to office of CSU (address mentioned below) before the deadline.

Documents to mail:

• Printed and signed application forms downloaded from Chinese government scholarship and CSU international student office
• Photocopy of the passport (Over one-year availability).
• Photocopy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner with the blood test report. Applicants should strictly be examined as prescribed in the Record. Fill in the Record in English or Chinese. Incomplete form is regarded as invalid. The examination date shall be after January 1, 2019.
• Certificates of highest education (Notarized copy). If the applicant is to be graduated in 2019, the pre-graduation certificate issued by school is required.
• Transcripts of the highest education (Notarized copy).
• Non-criminal record with an official stamp. The issue date shall be after January 1, 2019.
• IELTS/TOEFL, or other documents to prove your linguistic competence.
• Two recommendation letters from professors/associate professors with detailed contacts (Issuance date shall be after January 1, 2019).
• Study Plan of no less than 800 words.
• Published essays or any other supporting materials.
