This scholarship is offered for silk road economic belt and 21st century Maritime silk road (the Belt and Road) countries to pursue the their master degree in China.

Belt and Road Fellowship benefits:
- Tuition fee exemption
- Monthly allowance of 4000 RMB for accommodation, local transport, health insurance and other basic expenses
The scholarship includes :
- Maximum 1 year of study courses including 4 months of compulsory courses in Chinese language and Chinese Culture.
- Practical research and degree completion

Who is eligible for these programs?
The applicants should fulfill the following requirements and conditions:
- Be citizen of any country other than China
- Have good health fitness
- Be maximum in his/her 30 years of age on December 1, 2019
- Have good character
- Have advance academic achievement
- Be interested to abide chin’s laws and decrees
- Have obtained/obtaining a bachelor degree in relevant field of study
- Have/get the approval for application from a host supervisor in CAS and his/her affiliated School or institute
- Meet the language requirement:
- Chinese program: pass new HSK band 5 with score more than 200
- English program: good English proficiency (TOEFL 90, IELTS 6.5, / English native speaker / have major undergraduate instructed in English or Chinese
How to apply?
Applicants should read the eligibility and find here a host supervisor agreeing to accept you.
Follow the steps below:
- Apply online for BOTH admission and fellowship via UCAS online application linked below
- Please apply to only one institute
- Apply for one supervisor only
After the document screening, the applicants will be required to attend an interview, or interview plus a written test or exempted from interview
Remind your supervisor after submitting your application to complete the supervisor form.
Required documents in English/Chinese:
- Scan copy of passport (valid for minimum 2 years)
- Recently taken full face photo with 2 inch (photo used for passport)
- CV with short introduction of research experience
- Physical Examination form
- Bachelor degree certificate ( those who have not received their documents or about to graduate from university, should provide pre-graduation certificate and expected date of graduation
- Bachelor degree transcript
- Language proficiency proof (English / Chinese)
- Detailed Research proposal
- Title pages and abstracts of published papers (if have)
- Two letters of reference (singed, dated on official headed paper with contact details)
- Certificate of financial support/complete the scholarship procedure to UCAS
- Receipt of Application fee ( applicants of this fellowship are exempted from application processing fee)

The selection of applicants will be done in May to June and the admission offers, award letters and other documents will be sent to the applicants. Applicants should take their documents including passport, admission notice, visa application form, physical examination form, and other reports to the embassy of the People’s Republic of China and apply for a student visa (X1/X2 visa)
