Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

The community health promoter are responsible for doing the following:

  • Acting according to the policy of the organization;
  • Identification of indicators to monitor HEALTH PROMOTION activities, results, achievements and use the concrete tools to measure and follow up those activities.
  • organization, training, and supervision of the team of Health Promoters /Nutrition and PSS Counsellors / Community Health Workers in terms of:
  • Supporting, assessing and coaching of staffs;
  • Regular Visit of communities that are under his/her responsibility;
  • Supporting in elaboration/improvement of materials and identification of strategies to deliver information focused to the community.
  • Reporting (collecting reports of each health employee and reporting his/her activities)
  • supporting, supervising, and giving consistency to the health promotion and education portfolio approach in the different projects, while considering the different target populations and cultural contexts, specific of each context.
  • creating a pool of trained professional health promoters, able to deal with specific fields. Some examples:
  • Reducing the default rate in TFP (Therapeutic feeding program), ANC, PNC, EPI.
  • Contributing to properly forge the medical expectations of the target population, in a way of positively affecting their Health seeking behavior.
  • Concurring to improve medical doctor/patient relationship
  • Be Flexible and available in case of emergency response.
  • Collecting and reporting to the Provincial Coordinator, on a monthly basis, the activities conducted by the different Mobile teams, at different project level, while highlighting achievements, current constraints and future plans.
  • supervising and guiding the Nutrition and PSS Counsellors in the identification of local significant actors (local authorities, local NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) to support the diffusion of health information of the target population, and be the reference for the relation and networking with these subjects.
  • Keep confidential with issues related to ORCD.
  • Any other task given by the Provincial Coordinator.

Job Requirements:

  • Hold afghan nationality
  • Be a medical and social science faculty graduate
  • have the ability to speak Pashto Dair & English fluently.
  • A minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in project management
  • be a team player and have the competence to work independently with minimal supervision
  • have the ability to go to the area
  • Be able to maintain professionalism in service delivery and ethics
  • have the experience in case management including management of case conferences
