Unlock the power of film to inspire your students beyond school walls! This course is designed to help educators cultivate media and information-literate global citizens who actively contribute to a more equitable and sustainable world.

Participants will delve into documentary films, exploring the profound impact of visual storytelling in communicating ideas and inspiring change. Guided by Virginia Pittaro from SIMA Studios, you’ll engage in activities that seamlessly integrate film into your lessons, enriching your teaching practice and broadening your students’ perspectives.

 

 Course Sessions:

Session 1: Documentary Film For Media and Information Literacy

Session 2: Curate a collection of Social Impact Films and Resources

Session 3: Implement The SIMA Challenge: 2030 Impact Campaign

Session 4: Report your Impact

Deadline: You need to submit your impact by November 8, 2024.

Virginia Pittaro

Director of Global Partnerships at SIMA, an organization dedicated to promoting global awareness and social transformation through impactful cinema. Virginia’s career in International Development is centered on empowering individuals, organizations, and businesses to drive positive change.

For the past 15 years, she has been aiding entrepreneurs, social leaders, and changemakers in fostering a purpose-driven economy and education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and International Development.
