Opportunity Description

WorldSkills and the HP Foundation are accepting applications for the 2025 Be Change Maker (BCM), a global social entrepreneurship acceleration program that helps participants accelerate their business ideas and become successful social entrepreneurs.

BeChangeMaker is a free online training program that equips aspiring changemakers with skills, mentorship, and resources to tackle global challenges through social entrepreneurship. Participants gain access to HP LIFE’s 32 free courses, startup acceleration tools, coaching, and a worldwide network of supporters and investors. This program is working to drive solutions for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility Criteria for Be Change Maker Program

Participants must:

  • Be 18 to 35 years old.
  • Be currently enrolled in or have completed general or vocational education/training.
  • Join individually or in a team of up to five members.
  • Ensure their participation complies with their institution’s policies. WorldSkills International and the HP Foundation are not responsible for any disputes with employers or schools.

Participation Requirements 

To apply, teams must:

  • Form a team of up to five members (ages 18-35).
  • Appoint a team leader as the main contact and applicant.
  • Before applying, create an HP LIFE account for each member via this link. The team leader must confirm all accounts and provide email addresses in the application.
  • Submit a 1-minute video introducing the team and their social challenge. Upload it to YouTube as unlisted and share the link in the application.
  • Apply online via BeChangeMaker by 31 May (submission by team leader).
  • The final selection of the top 30 teams will be announced on 6 June.

Requirements for Ideas and Solutions

All works must:

  • Avoid inappropriate content – No derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, or explicit material.
  • Comply with laws – Must not violate any local, national, or international laws.
  • Be original – Must be unpublished and free from third-party-owned content.
  • Respect rights – No violations of privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights.
  • Include permissions – Any third-party copyrighted material must have proper authorization.

Note: Non-compliance may result in disqualification by WorldSkills International and HP Foundation.

Judging Criteria of Be Change Maker

The judging panel will evaluate the participants based on their team at the pitch competitions. The most important judging criteria include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Relevance: Judges will consider how relevant the solution to the chosen social issue is.
  • Innovation: What insight or innovation differentiates the submitted solution from other existing ones?
  • Impact: How will the solution improve lives? How many people will benefit if successful, and to what extent?
  • Scalability: How easily will it be applicable nationally, locally, and globally?
  • Feasibility: Is the solution a well-developed and realistic plan to implement the solution? Does it financially sound?
