Information on the (Girls) 20 Global Summit:

The G (irls) 20 Global Summit was launched in 2010 in Toronto, Canada and since then, it has been serving as the only forum for young women and girls to influence the G20 Summit. The summit is held annually in the same country where the G20 summit is held. This year Saudi Arabia will be hosting world leaders and engagement parties. In October 2020, over 25 young women from across the world will gather for the eleventh time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a week of leadership training, social entrepreneurship development, and mentoring by prominent female leaders both in the business and public sectors.

Application period:  February 14 – March 13, 2020. 

Applications close on Friday, March 13, at 15:00 EST (GMT -5).

Interview: April 2020

Result application: May 2020

What it covers?

• Any costs arising from delegates’ participation will be covered including the following
• Traveling cost to and from Riyadh.
• Transportation costs
• Health insurance cost
• Meal and accommodation costs

The outline of the summit:

• Valuable leadership skills building workshops are conducted
• Panels discussion and speeches on the key policy issues confronting women and girls globally
• Issuing a Communique/statement with the recommendations to the G20 drawn from delegates distinctive skills and experience;
• Availability of the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with 200 + young female leaders from across the globe;

Establishing a network of mentors both from the public and private sectors at the summit

Eligibility criteria:

• Prospective applicants must be 18 years old at the time of application and must not be older than 23 years before 31 October 2020
• Currently have or can obtain a valid passport
• Have citizenship of any of the participating country or region at the G20

G20 Permanent Members Are:

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and European Union.

Guest Countries and Regions Invited for the 2020 Summit:

Afghanistan, African Union, Indigenous*, MENA (Includes: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen), Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

Reminder: please consider that the Indigenous Delegate Position is open to a young women from any world country who belongs to a self-determined Indigenous group.
