- AUW has announced that scholarships are no longer available for Afghan candidates at this time.
- However, Afghan applicants who possess personal funding or have secured third-party sponsorship are highly encouraged to submit their applications for fast-track consideration.
About the AUW Undergraduate Program
Benchmarked against the most prestigious liberal arts colleges globally, the AUW curriculum is delivered by an international faculty. It aims to prepare alumnae for graduate studies and immediate employment at elite institutions worldwide.
If admitted but requiring additional academic preparation, students are placed into the Pre-undergraduate Program / Pathways for Promise—a one-year intensive program focusing on English, Math, Computer Literacy, and Karate to prepare them for the rigorous undergraduate curriculum.

Financial Benefits and Cost of Study
The standard cost to study at AUW is US$15,000 per year, which covers:
- Tuition: $9,000
- Books, Course Supplies & Student Activities: $3,000
- Room and Board: $3,000 (Students residing outside AUW facilities will not be charged for room and board).
Scholarships & Financial Aid
AUW follows a “need-blind” admission practice and currently supports 85% of its student body with financial aid.
- Full Scholarships: Cover tuition, room and board, course supplies, primary healthcare, and international travel (a one-way ticket to Chittagong and a return ticket after graduation).
- Partial Financial Aid: Awarded based on the student’s family background and financial circumstances.
- Work-Study Program: Full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing can earn wages while working on campus to cover personal expenses.
Merit Scholarships (Domestic Students – Bangladesh)
AUW offers Merit Scholarships based on academic excellence in previous exams:
- SSC & HSC: GPA 5 in both grants a 60% scholarship. A GPA of 4.5 to 4.9 in both grants a 50% scholarship.
- O Level & A Level: 7 A’s in O Level and 3 A’s in A Level grants a 60% scholarship. 5 A’s in O Level and 2 A’s in A Level grants a 50% scholarship.
- GED & IB: A score of 175+ in all 4 GED subjects or 40+ points in IB grants a 25% scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for admission and financial aid at AUW, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a female student seeking an undergraduate degree.
- Demonstrate high potential, leadership qualities, and strong motivation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English (as it is the language of instruction), though the Pre-undergraduate pathway is available for those needing English language support.
- To maintain financial aid and merit scholarships, students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 each semester.
- Submit required financial documentation if applying for aid (e.g., self-assessment form, bank statements, tax return documents, parents’ salary certificates).
How to Apply
AUW intakes students three times a year:
- Spring Season: Classes start in January
- Summer Season: Classes start in May
- Fall Season: Classes start in September

Application Steps:
- Submit your application form through the AUW online admission portal linked in apply now button. .
- Ensure all academic transcripts and, if applicable, financial aid documents are uploaded.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a locally administered entrance examination (measuring English grammar, reading, writing, and Math solving skills).
- Candidates who perform well on the written exam will be called for a personal interview to evaluate leadership, motivation, resilience, and inclusivity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can transfer students apply for financial aid at AUW?
Transfer applications are accepted through the online portal, but please note that transfer students are completely ineligible for financial aid. They must be self-funded.
If I am placed in the Pre-undergraduate program, how long will it take to graduate?
Students entering through the Pre-Undergraduate or Pathways for Promise programs ordinarily require five years to graduate, whereas students entering directly into the undergraduate program complete their degree in four academic years.
Can my financial aid package be increased after I start my program?
No, a student cannot apply for any increase in financial aid after starting at AUW unless a major, verifiable event occurs that severely changes the family’s financial situation. Such approvals are extremely rare.
