Organization Description

The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of United Nations deliberations and supporting journalism in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Oceania. Originating from the initiative of U.N. journalists after Hammarskjöld’s death, the Fund was established to honor his legacy. Recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1962, it has provided opportunities for career journalists under 35 to report from the U.N. headquarters in New York for over six decades. Through reporting from the U.N., fellows gain insights into global challenges and diverse reporting practices, enhancing their journalistic careers.
