Opportunity Description

Application is open for MCW Global’s Young leaders Access Program. This is a year-long program offered to participants from any country around the globe who are ready to become positive change leaders in their community. Selected applicants will be given the tools and skills required to change passion into action in the following three phases of the program.

Summer Retreat- Phase

This is a 10-day intensive program facilitating leadership development, and provide a deep understanding of global citizenship and procedures of implementing a project from the start to the ending point. This phase of the program will be held in late July/early August in Burlington, Vermont and New York City, USA.

 

Vision Planning: Project Development

Young leaders Access Program participants who have an idea of community issues they want to advocate, will help them in the process of transforming passion into a concrete, tangible and plan for change by enabling them put their local issues into a larger global context while understanding why they are in a unique position to make change in their community. After the retreat, the applicants will be able to further develop and/or implement their projects with the mentorship of Alumni mentors.

Alumni Mentorship and Ongoing Support

After vision planning, the applicants will be paired with an alumni mentor to further develop and execute the action plan. The mentor will guide them and support them in creating, developing and executing the action plan.

Eligibility? 

Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

Applicants should: 

  • have a demonstrated commitment to their community.
  • identify an issue in their community to advocate/address.
  • be between the ages of 18 to 26.
  • be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • commit to attending the summer retreat phase of the program and spending the following year aiming to execute their community project.
  • Be eligible for visa and travel documents.

How to apply

applicants should fill the application form online. After submission of the application, applications are reviewed and shortlisted. shortlisted applicants will be requested to submit a brief needs assessment describing their community issues and potential solutions in detail.

after need assessment submission, applicants contacted to attend a virtual interview. the final result will be announced to selected participants on April 1, 2020, by email.
