Selection criteria

A broad range of scholarships is available to international applicants. Some scholarships are given on the basis of grades of your previous study, while other scholarships are awarded based on your qualification to meet the entry requirements of selected courses.

Automatic consideration

You are not required to submit a separate application* for these scholarships. Therefore, just apply for your Swinburne chosen course, and the University will automatically consider you for a Swinburne International scholarship while assessing your course application.

Acceptance of your offer

Swinburne sends eligible applicants a Letter of Offer indicating the course or courses they are qualified to study. To admit your offer to study at Swinburne, you must complete, sign, and return an Offer Acceptance Form and pay the deposit stated on your Letter of Offer. Please note to read the offer very carefully.

3. Review entry requirements

Make sure that you meet the minimum English language and academic entry criteria before applying. Although you may already meet the requirements of the English language (varying requirements including TOEFL & IELTS), if not, you need to improve your English language skills to meet the entry requirements by taking an English language course at Swinburne. You will need to present your education and employment history, along with your application.

7. Prepare required documents

In addition, you may also need to submit supporting documents with your application. These can include:

• verified copy of your passport
• English proficiency test results
• certified copy of unit outlines and academic transcripts
• portfolio (for most design courses)
• English translations of all documents, if not already in English
