About Berlin Scholarship

Journalists who develop their skills in digital fields can apply to Berlin Scholarship which is designed to empower the journalists. This scholarship provides the opportunity for journalists from the region with crisis and war-torn regions to participate in a four-month training to get the knowledge of protecting themselves against digital warnings and threats.

RSF Berlin Scholarship benefits:

Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public enterprises offers the scholarship that covers the following:

• Travel costs
• Accommodation (a pleasant apartment in Berlin)
• Pocket money (1000 euro /month)
• Free public transport
• Fully equipped computer
• The training about digital security issues and how to teach others about it.
• And other programs

Eligibility

Applicants who are professional journalists, bloggers and citizen journalist who meet the following requirements, can apply:

• Passionate to get new knowledge and work in digital security
• Interested to teach others the knowledge obtained by scholarship
• Exposed to digital threats due to their work in their home regions
• Have good English language Skill
• Return to your home country
• Have enough working experience in journalism
