The IBM COVID-19 Code Global Challenge 2020 is allocated for innovators to build practical, useful and high-quality applications through one or more IBM Cloud services such as web, mobile, data, analytics, AI, IoT, or weather) could bring a positive impact on human’s life. Anyone from any part of the world like team developers, data scientists, designers, business analysts, subject matter experts, etc. are invited to create their solution for reposing the COVID-19 and climate change.

Rules and regulations:

  • The submission proposal must use one or more IBM Cloud services or IBM Systems. Using open libraries, resources can be used as well.
  • The size of each team should be up to people, and each member’s age should be over 18 Years.
  • Applicants are not allowed to join in multiple groups.
  • All of the applicants should accept the 2020 participation agreement role
  • The submission should be created for 2020 and must be new.

Required document:

  • Personal information of team members.
  • Sample of project proposal including submission name, track, ten words disruption, long description about 500 words, the roadmap of the solution, link to publicly accessible GitHub repository, three-minute demo video with the criteria below:
    • explain how the solution contributes to understanding the COVID-19 or increase the people capability to deal with it.
    • Provide an estimate of the scale and type of resources required to perform the project.
    • Provide any support or collaboration if needed to be performed by partners.
    • Describe team member qualifications and readiness to execute the project.

Proposal format:

  • Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) at the top, bottom, and sides.
  • Type of fount should be one of the followings:
    • Arial 11, Courier New, or Palatino Linotype, 10 points or larger font size.
    • Times New Roman, 11 points or larger font size.
    • Computer Modern family fonts, font size of 11 points or larger.
    • Use less than 10 points size for mathematical formulas or equations, figures, table, or diagram caption.
    • Unique characters and Greek letters should be used for symbol font.
    • The density type should not be more than 15 characters per 2.5 cm.
  • Include page number with pdf format.

Evaluation criteria:

The submission will be evaluated based on followings:

  • the submission qualification through presenting a response for COVID-19.
  • Technical approach feasibility.
  • Required to high computation performance.
  • The knowledge and experience of team members.
  • Estimation of recourse requirements of computation.
