Opportunity Description

IF you are are young leader here is a great opportunity for you to attend Humane Artificial Intelligence symposium in the USA.

Introduction

The East-West Center (EWC) has undertaken an initiative intended to integrate the societal challenges and opportunities being raised as a result of advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning and big data as part of its intercultural, intergenerational, and interdisciplinary effort. The symposium is designed to be composed of plenary lectures, thematically-formulated small group discussions, and collaborative brainstorming in a sphere of conviviality.

To address the intricacy of the issues caused by artificial intelligence_ in social, economic, political, as well as ethical terms_ and in consideration of the diversity-oriented principle of the Center, applications from academic, scientific, policy-making, business, activist, and artistic/expressive communities are welcomed for the symposium.

Objectives of the symposium:

  • To create a continuous forum for exploring discrepancies in realizing the purpose of aligning Artificial Intelligence (AI) with human values and social prosperity;
  • To enhance global commitments to a balanced and humane AI; and
  • To involve evolving viewpoints on the emerging interactions of people, AI and technologies;

Format of symposium

The symposium is framed to be conversation-centered. There will be two keynote presentations on the first day on thematic reciprocity of privacy and social cohesion. Further sessions will be moderated, small-group and plenary discussions. The conclusion will be drawn with an extended debate of future steps in boosting lasting and significant collaborations.
