Job Summary

BU is hiring ten lecturers for teaching different subjects at various degree levels. Eligible applicants can apply for these opportunities after reading the details below.

Job Description:

• Preparing handouts and teaching resources for students using PowerPoint slides and other multimedia sources.
  • Preparing lectures and delivering to students using innovative technology.
  • Developing and applying new methods of teaching to adapt to changes in teaching methodology.
  • Evaluating students’ coursework;
  • Setting and marking examinations papers;
  • performing personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution’s research.
  • Monitoring students’ research activities;
  • Completing continuous professional development (CPD) and taking part in staff training activities;
  • Doing administrative responsibilities relevant to the department, such as student admissions, induction programs, and engagement with committees and boards.
  • Representing the university in professional conferences and seminars, and making necessary contributions in this regard.
  • Contributing to the development, planning, and application of a high-quality curriculum.
  • Drafting and taking the periodic tests and final tests and devise a system where all those marks contribute to the final grading.
  • Developing, writing, and preparing new materials, including audio and visual resources.
  Working with other team members to decide on the audio-visual material to be taught.
  • Ensuring the attendance is called every day, and poor attendance is reported to the management.
  • Submitting monthly student progress report to the Head of Department and Dean of Faculty.
  Other duties as given by the Dean of Faculty.

Job Requirements

The applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Master Degree with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a reputable educational institution (Ph.D. holder will be Preferred).
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of office automation (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
  • Personal qualities: Must be hardworking, honest, on time, and regular and having robust communication and teaching skills.
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Be able to communicate with students from different backgrounds.
  Highly attentive to students and their academic needs.
  • Having good knowledge of the subject area.
