Job description
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The teachers’ job will be to:
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons.
- Encourage student participation in lessons and in other school-related activities.
- Provide support to the Leadership Team to implement the school’s improvement plan.
- Assess and report on the behavior of students.
- Provide educational and social advice to students and/or signposting them to specialist areas of advice when needed.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality and applying the latest teaching methods.
- Participate in opportunities to improve your own learning and continuous professional development.
- Attend in staff meetings to support the smooth running and administration of the school.
- Cooperate with parents, carers, guardians, support workers, and other professionals to protect and ensure the educational wellbeing of retardate students who may have special educational needs.
- Adopt and work towards the implementation of the school development plan of the specified school they are in.
- Assign work and marks work carried out by his/her students.
- Assess, record and report on the development, progress, accomplishment and behavior of one’s students;
- Provide or contribute to oral and written valuations, reports and references relating to students.
- Take part in arrangements within an agreed framework for the assessment of students’ performance.
- Promote the general progress and comfort of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her.
- Teache and implement (Standards, Learning Objectives, Essential Questions, and Success Criteria).
- Develops curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
- Prepare learning materials, grades papers, manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students.
- Exercise open and reverential communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic attainments on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Make and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies.
- Attend conferences and workshops so as to further deepen professional development.
- Manage student behavior in line with outlined guidelines.
- Provides a safe, flourishing, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
- Attend in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and procedures.
- Manage the diverse ability levels of students.
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Uses relevant technology to support instruction.
- Participates in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations.
- Define classroom rules and expectations.
- Sets up and lead teacher/parent student-assessment conferences
- Provide guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers; provides information on sources of more expert advice.
