Founded in 1966, Flinders University is an Australian public research university based in Adelaide, Australia. Flinders also has an extension across 11 locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The University’s name honors British navigator Matthew Flinders. Flinders surveyed and explored the Australian and South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.

Flinders University pioneered a cross-disciplinary approach to education academically, and its faculties of humanities and medicine have ranked among the nation’s top ten.
