Each year, Thomson Foundation offers Young journalist awards in partnership with the UK foreign press Association. This year it is the seventh year of offering this award to recognize and inspire outstanding journalists from around the world.
Journalist with relevant story, prompt public debate and or stories the is leading or have the potential to lead to a positive in change in the community can apply to this award.

Who can apply?
Applicants fulfilling the following criteria will be eligible to apply. Not meeting the criteria will result in immediate disqualification.
1. The journalists must 30 years old or younger on November 26, 2019
2. Be from a country with a gross national income (GNI) of 20,000$ or less.
Applicants should submit a portfolio of three published or pieces of broadcasted work in within the last year. The format of the work can be print, audio, video, multimedia or a combination of all four.
The application should be submitted in English language.
The application should be followed by verification letter from the applicant’s current editor, on letter head of the company. Freelancers or self-employed applicants should provide the verification from an editor from one of the publications, websites, broadcasters or anywhere that the work is displayed.
