Overview

Application is now open for the Travel Impact Challenge 2021 for youths from around the world. The Challenge is a 4-day virtual dynamic program for 16-20 years old from Canada, the USA and the world intended to bridge cultural gaps and foster engagement with the travel and tourism industry, and provide young people with a unique, hands-on and collaborative platform to meet and work with peers from around the world. This year’s challenge will go online and be within the confines of your homes.

Application deadline: March 15, 2021 at 12 pm Pacific time

Duration: April 15-18, 2021

Number of youth participants: 100 (50 from North America and 50 from worldwide)

What does it include?

The Impact Challenge will encompass interactive Zoom hangout calls with its participants, presentations and panel discussions from wonderful speakers from the travel and tourism industry, and immersive brainstorming and collaborative work through an interactive virtual medium.

Besides, participants will have access for 3 months to a self-directed ‘Make an Impact’ course teaching them about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and how they can make a change in their life and in the world!

Eligibilities

Your Big Year “the organizer” is seeking self-motivated, diverse participants who have passion, energy and a desire to learn for and in their work.

Applicants should be 16-20 years old at the time of application coming from various backgrounds.

It is seeking people that align with its values.

Specifically, you are eligible if you:

• Value the power of travel (even if you haven’t enjoyed the opportunity to travel yet!)

• are passionate about making an impact

• You are keen to explore different cultures directly from peers with different backgrounds

• Want to work with like-minded people

• wish to thrive as a young professional in an online experience

• aim to grow personally through this opportunity, including understanding yourself and your desires
• Want to make an impact in your life and in your world!

There are two ways for an application to this program: students can apply directly OR teachers can nominate them for the program.

• There is no application fee for the program.
• The application questions take nearly 15-30 minutes to complete; so prepare your answers before submitting the official form.
