Introduction
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers several fellowships for undergraduate programs and Master programs for the academic year of 2024. The application for this fellowship is now open, and eligible non-Chinese citizens can apply for the scholarships on offer.

Benefits
USTC funds this fellowship and has two levels such as:
- Level A includes a
- tuition waiver,
- broad Medical Insurance,
- a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and
- accommodation subsidy;
- Level B consists of a tuition waiver.
Eligibilities
Those who satisfy the criteria below are eligible to apply.
- Non-Chinese nationals holding a valid passport and in sound physical and mental health condition.
- Have passed new HSK test Level 5 or above; candidates whose mother language is Chinese, or can provide evidence of studying at a high school where they have been taught in Chinese.
- The terms outlined by the Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education of the PRC) have to be fulfilled.
- Must possess a high school diploma (corresponding to a high school diploma in China) by July.
- Candidates must be below the age of 30 by September 1st..
- Must not be an enrolled student in Chinese universities while applying.
- Those expected to obtain their degree this year should submit a Pre-graduation Certificate confirming that they will complete their study and earn the degree by July.
- Applicants receiving other Chinese scholarships or funds(2024-2025) do not qualify to apply for this scholarship.
Required documents
- Application Form for International Students (Undergraduate Program)
- Copy of passport (containing pages with Chinese visa or residence permit, if pertinent)
- Authenticated copies of senior high school graduation diploma and transcripts.)
- Copies of the Certificate of new HSK Level 5 and transcripts (the original certificate and transcripts are mandatory upon registration if admitted); or evidence of education at a Chinese-medium high school.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- Recommendation letter from senior high school (original copy in Chinese or English)

Note: Documents in languages other than Chinese must have a certified translation in one of the two languages.

How to apply?
Applicants can apply online for the fellowship through the USTC Application System.
Steps to consider:
- Create an account in the system.
- Fill out the form and upload the documents properly.
- Select the fellowship that you wish to apply for.
- Applicants can either apply for one level or both levels at the same time.
- Based on the broad elevation of the applicant, USTC will choose which level of the fellowship may be granted.
- Each applicant can enjoy only support from one scholarship.
