What is the most defining challenge for today’s world?

One of the significant challenges in the world is Climate Change that makes a high level of impact instability of our ecosystems affecting human health, the ability to grow food, and create thriving communities. It depends on our future challenge to be tackle.

United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) organizes Global Innovation Challenge to invite innovators, entrepreneurs, programmers, and developers to make a solution for addressing climate change on people, communities, and nations that could help everyone around the world to adapt, survive and prosper. If you have an idea and solution that accelerate progress on the SDGs, so submit it before 31 July 2020.

Benefits:

• Take part in UNOPS Global Innovation Incubator Program, which is including attend the Sony Startup Acceleration Program.

Eligibilities:

• Anyone, groups, including business entities, and another type of organizations are eligible to apply.
• Female applicants are highly encouraged to apply
• Innovators, entrepreneurs, programmers, and developers with creative ideas and solutions can apply.

Technology solutions criteria:

• Solutions for building infrastructure, networks, and systems that can withstand shocks and stresses.
• The solutions can include how technology from sensors to artificial intelligence- can make climate resilience, how could asset communities to be ready for adopting the challenges caused by climate change.
• Climate and natural resource data
• Make sure of reliable power generation and efficient emergency answer in the midst of a fierce storm to develop sustainable agriculture and protecting biodiversity.

After solutions submission, what will happen?

• The submission will be evaluated by a team of subject matter, professional form UNOPS and other private sectors.
• Submission proposal with high qualification and competencies to create a positive impact through making climate change adaption and resilience will be notified. And will be included in an innovation accelerator program.
• The successful applicants will have participated in a boot camp in Kobe, Japan, for four days.
