The graduate research studies at the University of Otago is overseen by the Graduate Research School. The school provides policy advice for research Master and doctoral degrees, and manages the university’s prizes and scholarships. Every year the University Council of Otago University awards many scholarships to the candidates who are seeking to continue their studies in either Doctoral or Master’s degree.

Benefits:
- For Research Master’s degree: $15,000 plus tuition fee waiver
- For Doctoral degree: $27,000 stipend (annual ) plus tuition fees
- Number of scholarships: 200 (Doctoral) and 60 (Masters)

- There previous degree should be accredited by Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.
