Introduction to the course

The deadline for registration for the free online course on “Local Water Solutions for Global Challenges” is now open. This course is jointly offered by the University of Strathclyde, Gaia Education and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Through offering this course, the three institutions contribute to the International Decade (2018–2028) for Action – Water for Sustainable Development.

Why this course?

This course is intended to highlight the importance of water for sustainable development given the severe shortage of freshwater resources globally caused by multiple factors such as climate change, increasing human population and unsustainable growth. Furthermore, it aims to build participants’ skills and knowledge around the importance of effective management of water resources.

Course Completion & benefits

This course is delivered through UNITAR’s e-Learning Platform. It consists of 4 modules, each including a lesson, a discussion forum and a quiz.
