About the Prize:
The UNESCO ICT in Education Prize is supported by Bahrain Country and launched by UNESCO. This Prize is designed to support innovative ICT projects that are used to facilitate education and learning.
For the year 2021, this award is for the projects/programs for public learning educational systems in which technology is used. The programs must ensure the continuity and equality of education for all. More specifically, the 2021 theme of the program is Use of technology to enable inclusive crisis-resilient learning systems.
Location of the award ceremony: Paris, UNESCO Headquarters
Application deadline: February 18, 2022
Benefits:
The prize in $25,000 USD value, a medal, and a diploma will be awarded to awardees.
Who can apply:
Individuals, Institutions, and NGOs can apply to this award.
UNESCO partners can nominate up to three nominees.
- The project must have at least one year in duration
- The initiative and/or the organization must not have any link to UNESCO, neither it should receive any funds from UNESCO.
- The technical tools of the project should be accessible and open.

Selection criteria:
- Relevance of the project/program to the thematic focus.
- Innovativeness of the program/project.
- Impact evidence.
- Programs/projects’ potential for scalability and replicability.
- Equity and inclusion.
Application procedure
Interested applicants can apply considering the following steps:
- Self-nomination will not be accepted.
- Contact a nominating entity if you think your project satisfies the eligibility criteria.
- Create an account. To do so, request an account and mention the NGO or National commissions through which you want to apply.
- NGO lists which are the official partner of the UNESCO.
- List of National Commission you can apply through.
- Fill out the online application form in English or Frech languages.
- All project-related resources such as publications, photos, and videos must be submitted on the application form.
- Make sure you have nominated the project.
- Keep the word limit and other structural rules in mind while presenting your proposals.
- Register and fill the online application form (in English or French) on the UNESCO prize website
