Opportunity Description

Introduction

USFUCA, UNESCO Centre for Peace, and the World Genesis Foundation call upon youth from across the world to participate in the Multimedia Contest. The competition provides unmatched connectivity which puts the youth in one of the best positions to effect a much-needed change in the world.

UNESCO’s mission is to spark the optimism of the world youth to respond to an urgent problem and to serve others in a highly rewarding platform. This is an outstanding opportunity for youth to develop leadership skills, learn how the United Nations conducts itself, and meet youth from across the world.

Eligibility

The different age groups are eligible to submit an entry for the competition as follows:

  • Juniors- age 10-14; Youth- age 15-19; and Young Adult – aged 20-24 (in general 10-24 years old applicants).
  • Entrants should provide a 3-minute video, multimedia presentation, written essay (500-700 words), artwork or any other manners which channels a special passion for answering the prompt.

Prizes and benefits

  • The three finalists in each group will receive an official plaque engraved with their name and certificate. The winners will be invited to the UNESCO’s Builders of the Universe Camp held at Hood College, Maryland, USA.

This invitation will include:

  • A free scholarship for the camp
  • Food
  • Accommodation
  • Two-way transport to the airport (airfare not included).
  • There will be a special ceremony for the finalists at the camp, and
  • The top 9 winners will be invited to and recognized in global events during the year.
  • The names of the winners will be published on the USFUCA and UNESCO websites.
  • WhizJuniors will provide a one-year online subscription to participate in 125 plus tech courses, completely practical, solve MCQs, and submit projects for all the winners.

2022 Question: “ْ The world is not on the track to accomplish the goals in 2030, according to the SDG’s 2020 report. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the progress had been slow. Six years after the approval of the 2030 agenda, the average SDG index of the region shows modest progress towards the goals. In terms of the SDGs, how has your region fared? According to you, what problems are there in your country that prevent the achievement of one of the SDG’s goals? What real solutions could you establish for your community/country that assures success by 2030? Please do specify what goal of SDG you are focusing on.

Submission guidelines

Your entry should follow the following rules before submission:

  • Your work has to be related to the question.
  • Your work must be ordinary/original.

Make sure your essay complies with these formatting criteria:

  • 12 point Time News Roman
  • Double-spaced
  • 1-inch margin size all around
  • 500-700 words English essay in MLA format
  • Maximum 3-minute video
  • 3-dimensional art photos will be accepted. The explanation of your work must be completed in 100 words on the submission form.
  • 1 entry per individual (group entry in not allowed)
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of the competition (read the T’s and C’s here.).
