Introduction

The UN Women is organizing Gender Equality Campaign on the occasion of International Women’s Day and as world leaders and activists prepare to celebrate 2021 “Gender Equality Forum”_ a global forum that seeks to innovate for and invest in gender equality. Therefore, in line with the goal and spirit of the campaign, UN Women is inviting all young boys and girls worldwide to join its effort by visualizing and capturing what activism and actions for gender equality mean to them and share their vision of a gender-equal future.

Benefits

A minimum of 15 to 20 pieces of work (10 Static, 5 Animated Gifs, 5 Short Videos) will be selected by UN Women.

 Selected Creators will:

  • Potentially get their work used across UN Women social, digital, and wider marketing channels
  • Their work will be potentially featured on the UN Women’s website. Limit up to 10 Selected Creators
  • The creatives’ work and story will be potentially showcased as part of a PR campaign
  • Receive USD $500 for each piece selected.

Who are eligible?

  • This invitation is open to youths globally.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of submission.
  • Employees and their immediate family and household members of TLNT are ineligible to participate.
  • Participants must read and agree with the terms and conditions and official rules before making a submission (available on the main link).

What can you submit?

You can design your work in the form of static art, gifs, animations (up to 10 seconds), or short videos (up to one minute) that incorporate UN Women’s key messages.

Capture one of UN Women key message’s as follows in your work in a clear, effective and shareable way:

  • Activism and actions for gender equality and a global call to join the cause
  • Women’s Leadership, Representation, Participation
  • Economic Justice and Rights
  • An End to Gender-Based Violence
  • Freedom from Discrimination and Harmful Stereotypes
  • Social Protections (e.g. universal healthcare, paid parental leave, etc)
  • A gender-equal response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Submission rules

  • Your artwork must be submitted in JPEG, PNG, GIF or MP4 format (not exceeding 10 MB in size) depending on the creative medium you prepare.
  • Please keep your original layered artwork or source files in the highest quality possible. no photography is accepted.
  • You can make multiple submissions if you wish.
  • Only one key message of UN Women should be included in the entry.
  • No team or creator shall submit more than ten entries.

Selection

UN Women (global) will evaluate and select from all qualified submissions. A qualified submission is one that meets all the Terms & Conditions, Guidelines, and Official Rules, and is inclusive in terms of gender, age, race, cultures, and body positivity, and free of damaging stereotypes or depictions of violence.

The judging criteria include:

  • Creativity (25%)
  • Originality (25%)
  • Overall Understanding of the theme (25%)
  • Inclusive creatives free of stereotypes and discrimination (25%).
