Can you provide a solution to the way baggage are handled at the airport? Every year millions of bags are mishandled or even lost, and even though the system is being improved every day, the problem still exist. If you think you have some ideas about it, why not join the Toyota Logistic Design Competition 2020 and win cash prizes!

Maybe you want to change the whole system which is a big task but not impossible or maybe you just want to improve the current system which is not a small task either. You can choose to approach this competition from either of these ways.

  • Location:                             Sweden – receiving prize, Hannover, Germany – work exhibited

  • Important dates:
    • 15 April 2019- Competition launch
    • 22 October 2019 – Competition deadline
    • February 2020 – Finalists announced
    • March – April 2020 – Winners announced
  • Application type: Individual or a team of maximum 3 people
    • In team, select one person as the team leader who will do all the registration and communication tasks.
  • Your entry will be judged based on the following:
    • How it will reflect the Toyota brand and heritage.
    • Sensitivity to environment
    • Innovation
    • Aesthetics
    • Realistic implementation
    • Safety and user-friendliness


Note: Tax will apply for the prizes.

  • € 5,000 – First Position
  • € 3,000 – Second Position
  • € 2,000 – Third Position
  • The finalists can also apply for internship (6 month and paid) at TMHE Design Center.

  • Recent graduates and undergraduates (2019) or currently university students of an accredited university.

  • Even though the main focus of the program is on product design, industrial design, design and interaction, and transportation, those who have background in fashion, business, architecture, engineering and etc., can also apply.

Required info/documents:

  • Submission in English Language
  • Title of the concept
  • Short description of the concept (max 150 words)
  • Presentation of the concept (in A3 landscape format, pdf, maximum 4 pages with the cover)
  • A single image/picture that represents and describes your concept and resolution of screen (in JPG and no text)
  • When you may become one of the finalists, you will be asked to submit videos, 3D models, animations and etc.
