Opportunity Description
About this course
National Research Tomsk State University offers this course on “Presentation Skills: Designing Powerpoint Slides.” Powerpoint slides are like children: no matter to what extent they are unpleasant, you’ll think they’re attractive if they’re yours” — Scott Adams. So, due to the importance of presentation, it’s a huge stress to look at most Powerpoint slides. Based on the “design” skills of the speaker and the audience’s taste slides create various emotions from a slight frustration to physical sickness.
Despite the audiences’ boredom, still, the worst thing is that instead of making the presentation better, such slides faze the audience, divert its attention and ultimately require the speaker to explain them rather than being quite self-explanatory. The course introduces universal design principles, templates, colors, typefaces, slides’ typography, use of photos and pictograms, arrangement rules, and ways to create clear and expressive charts and diagrams.
