About the program

Applications are now open for the Peace First 2021-22 year-long paid fellowship for young and emerging social change leaders. Peace First is a global organization working to engage youths in peacemaking and driving social change. Furthermore, the one-year fellows in residence program aims to gather emerging leaders who are passionate about building a movement of youth to work for social change from across the globe.

In addition, the purpose of this program is to invest in the power, innovation, and impact of young leaders by offering leadership positions, particularly for young people within the Peace First community, to foster their skills and knowledge about their regions and the world. Also, it supports young people below the age of 26 to lead the organization’s projects in their respective regions.

Application deadline: Applications for the 2021 cohort of Fellows in Residence in MENA, Asia and Oceania, UK & Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa are currently open. the deadline for all regions is June 4, 2021.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The fellows will implement peace first’s programs in their regions working to mobilize and support hundreds of youths in their community: 

In particular, the fellows will:

  • Design and implement recruitment strategy in their region
  • Mobilize and manage volunteer Ambassadors to fulfill regional goals
  • Provide feedback and support to a large group of youth project leaders
  • Review and verify all small-grant applications within their region
  • Establish and administer partnerships with organizations in their region
  • Serve as a coach for Accelerator grantees
  • Hosting Labs, Community Calls and other trainings for young people
  • Represent Peace First
  • Support the design of new and improved Peace First programming
  • Contribute to organizational fundraising and storytelling efforts

Eligibilities

  • The Peace First Fellow in Residence program is open for young individuals below the age of 26 (bu June 1, 2021) anywhere in the world.
  • Must be able to at least show a one-year commitment for this program starting in August 2021.
  • Language proficiency in English and/or other languages as per each region.
  • Must have reliable and adequate internet access that will support participation and work online.
  • Hold a valid passport and be able to travel.

Personal competencies:

  • Be a changemaker
  • Has spearheaded a change-making project
  • Be a youth movement launcher or leader
  • Have the ability to lead and implement programs in their regions
