This fellowship program is a prestigious award of up to USD 50,000 for women who have accomplished their PhDs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. Also, applicants employed at scientific or academic research institutions in Science and Technology Lagging Countries (STLCs) can apply.

The OWSD Early Career Fellowship supports fellows to establish environments at their institutions with an international standard of research and the potential to attract scholars from worldwide to collaborate.

The fellowship program supports early-career women in science to lead important research projects in countries significantly lacking scientific and technological resources. The fellows will commence their research projects in one of the eligible countries. Applicants should demonstrate at least five years of total living in that country to be eligible. An employment assurance at the institution where fellows intend to conduct the research is necessary.
