Opportunity Description

Overview

Each year, the New York Academy of Sciences selects 1000 of the most talented high school students from around the world to join its Junior Academy. The Junior Academy is a passionate community of problem solvers, STEM experts, mentors, and industry leaders worldwide. The academy trains young high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and helps them enhance their careers in these fields by receiving mentoring, guidance and building 21-century skills. The application for the 2021/22 round of the program is now open for both students and mentors.

How does it work?

The initiative enables young students to learn autonomously and work collaboratively on Launchpad _ the academy’s unique online learning platform_ where they can work on projects in a self-paced manner and use their skills to work with other team members with the guidance of mentors throughout the program. By working on this platform, students develop solutions to solve society’s most pressing problems.
