Opportunity Description
According to the announcement of Ministry of higher education of Afghanistan, Japan is awarding 20 scholarships under the name of the program (MEXT) this year in undergraduate and college programs.
The scholarship is available for 12-grade graduates from 1395 to 1396, (2016-2017) in accordance with the following conditions. Therefore, all interested individuals who is willing to apply for the Japan scholarships are requested to refer to Higher Education Directorate in abroad for registration and completion of their documents until 5th Jawza 1397(May 26, 2018), as soon as possible.
Eligibility:
- Their high-school grades are above 90%.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Commitment and enthusiasm to study, which will improve the relations between Afghanistan and Japan.
- Ability to write and speak adequate Japanese language.
- The age of the candidates is between 17 and 24 years.
- Acceptance of candidates will be based on the results of the exam. The Japanese embassy will nominate eligible candidates and introduce them to MEXT.
- Then, MEXT will choose their best among the students who are suggested by the embassies and councils’ of Japan in all countries of the world.

- Medical certificates

2018 Timetable for documents submission:
Step 1: Deadline for introducing of applicants and form completion is June 10, 2018,
Step 2: Review of the applications is in mid June 2018.
Step 3: written and oral exams will be in late June 2018.
Stage 4: Candidates will be short-listed in late June 2018.
Stage 5: Final results will be announced in late December 2018.
It should be noted that the number of available Scholarships from the funding authority is 20 seats for the bachelor’s degree. If there are more enthusiastic applicants than the number of scholarships, applicants will be selected based on their three-year high school grades.
