Opportunity Description

Are you a Muslim in an Islamic country or in non Muslim countries, who is looking to pursue your higher education and need scholarship? if yes, you can apply to various scholarships offered by Islamic Development Bank.

Applications are now open for the 2024-25 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Scholarships to international students. IsDB offers various scholarship programs annually for students from the IsDB member countries and those from Muslim communities in non-member countries. Specifically, recipients of the scholarships can pursue their bachelor’s, Master’s degree, Ph.D., or postdoctoral research programs at recognized universities for September 2024 intake.

So, by reviewing the history of IsDB scholarship programs, the Bank launched its undergraduate Scholarship Program for Muslim Communities (SPMC) in 1983. Then, with a decade of experience, IsDB established the Merit Scholarship Program (MSP) for Ph.D. studies and postdoctoral research. In sum, MSP has helped students pursue their studies in applied science and high technology to strengthen institutions’ scientific, technological, and research capabilities in Member Countries (MCs) since 1992.

Later, in 1998, IsDB launched the Master of Science Scholarship Program (M.Sc.) as a feeding program for the MSP, realizing that 20 of the Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs) could not benefit from the latter. In addition, in 2019, the Bank started the IsDB-ISFD Program, a joint program between the IsDB and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development – ISFD. Accordingly, this program is intended to reduce poverty in 21 Least Developed IsDB Member Countries (LDMCs).
