Overview of the Program
Our understanding of human rights is framed by international human rights norms, treaties, standards and as well as organizations. The equal and fair access to education, work, and health, the right to development, self-determination, fundamental freedom rights of movement, of religion, expression, participation and consciences are examples of the plethora of human rights that are currently challenged and discussed – worldwide.
OSCE Academy offers this training Scholars and practitioners who are willing to expand their understanding of international human rights norms, treaties, and politics and debates, and about governments’ and civil society’s response to them.
The seminar covers the human rights norms and legal framework of United Nations, UN Treaty Body System, international covenants on Social, Economic and cultural, political and civil rights and the possibilities and challenges the governments and public administrations, civil society face during the implementation of human rights. The seminar will address the Specific human rights issues that are relevant for the Central Asian region such as Human Trafficking, Anti-Discrimination, protection of Minorities, Children rights, Racism, Religious rights, Women rights, and Labor.
Eligibility
The application is open for Scholars and practitioners from civil society, NGOs, and governmental organizations from the following region:
- Central Asia,
- Afghanistan,
- Mongolia and
- the wider OSCE region!
