Opportunity Description

The Government of Ireland’s Higher Education Authority (HEA) is launching the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2023 Program (GOI-IES). The GOI offers 60 scholarships to qualified candidates who have placement offers from eligible Irish higher education institutions and wish to pursue a degree at the Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. levels to internationalize Irish education. This is a fantastic possibility for Afghan students to apply and have the chance to study in Ireland.

Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Highly deserving students from non-EU/EEA countries may apply for the award.
  • Candidates must be natives or current residents of a non-EU nation.
  • The last year of an undergraduate program, the first year of a taught master’s degree program, or the first year of a research program (i.e., the first year of a 3- to 4-year Ph.D. or 2-year research master’s program).
  • Underrepresented cohorts are encouraged to apply to study in Ireland.
  • The HEA will take gender balance into account while choosing scholarship recipients.

Candidates should exhibit the following:

  • Excellence (academically, personally, professionally, artistically) (academically, personally, professionally, creatively).
  • Outstanding communication abilities.
  • Additional academic achievements (such as humanitarian work; politics local, national, international; arts; sports).
  • Possess a compelling reason to pursue their education in Ireland, demonstrating how GOI-IES fits with their long-term objectives.

Selection Criteria

The HEA will establish an impartial international assessment panel to assess the submitted proposals. The Assessment Panel will consider how far the applications adhere to the 2023 Call requirements.
