Program objective

The purpose of the fellowship is to advance independent and open-ended artistic work and to uphold the realization of new artworks. Furthermore, the program stimulates artists from different disciplines to deal with the narrative, technical and artistic capabilities of the radio medium, and specifically further exploration of radio as a medium of communication and possibly even the questioning of what can be constituted as a language by the radio.

Eligibilities requirements

  • The fellowship is open to artists from non-German speaking countries without residence in Germany working in the area of acoustic and time-based arts (radio, performance, and sound artists).
  • Though experience in radio production is not necessarily necessary, an enthusiasm in engaging with the medium and using the radio for your own work is admirable.

Selection process

The fellows are selected by the representatives of Goethe Institute in consultation with other organizing institutions.
