FMIC Postgraduate Medical Education residency program

French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) has announced Its Postgraduate Medical Education Residency Programme Intake 2021 for Afghan physicians.

This Postgraduate medical education residency program is accredited by the Afghanistan Ministry of public health offered for Afghan physicians with active support from the Postgraduate medical education program of Aga Khan University (AKU), Pakistan.

Location: Kabul, Karachi

Duration: One year

The medium of instruction: English

  • Rotations to teaching hospitals in Kabul
  • Training and rotations to Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi

  • Training expense will be born by the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC)

Enrichment program:

Female applicants will receive a three-month enrichment program being conducted at FMIC from Jan 1, 2021, to Mar 15, 2021, to encourage and prepare female candidates for the entrance exam.

  • Cardiology ( Sub-specialty for general internal medicine and thoracic internal medicine specialists)

  • Cardiovascular surgery (sub-specialty for general surgery, pediatric surgery, and thoracic surgery specialists)

Eligibility

 

All academically qualified afghan physicians regardless of their gender, religion race, color, and creed can apply to this educational residency program. The applicants should have the following:

  • MD diploma or equivalent from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Public Health.
  • Must have passed the medical council or exit exam.

Entrance test

applicants should attend the entrance test to test the medical knowledge and English language of candidates. The test is in the English language comprised of multi-choice questions in basic health sciences and respective disciplines ( medicine and surgery) and public health.

Interview:

candidates will be invited to attend the interview to assess their professionalism, ethics, analytic skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
