Opportunity Description

Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) is one of the key universities in China. Under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education, it has the support of both the central and municipal governments. In 2017, CUFE was chosen into the Double First-Class Initiative, a national project with the aim of boosting global standards in Chinese universities. CUFE offers a university full scholarship program to international students to study full-time in China. It is sponsored by the government of China.

Matriculation date: The fall semester commences around early September 2020.


It covers:

  • Accommodation/housing expense;
  • Tuition fee;
  • Monthly stipends; and
  • Insurance expense


  • Citizens of foreign countries with good physical and mental health are qualified to apply.
  • Master’s applicants should not be over 35 years old.

Programs taught in Chinese:

HKS-5 or higher (applicants whose native language is Chinese could apply for an HKS waiver through submitting a signed statement.

Programs taught in English:

  • IELTS, TOEFL, TOIC or other recognized test results or evidence of English language proficiency (course certificate) are required.
  • Signed statement applying to an English language proficiency waiver (waiting for university acceptance)
  • A personal statement (Chinese program applicants need to submit their statement in Chinese)
  • Two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English)
  • A copy of the Foreigners Psychical Examination Form.

  2. CSC Application form
  3. A copy of your passport
  4. A copy of the bachelor’s diploma or a certificate indicating your studentship and expected graduation date
  5. Bachelor’s transcripts (Original, in Chinese or English)
  6. Language proficiency certificate(s)

Application procedure

  1. Submit CUFE online application (here.)
  2. Submit the CSC Application here. Please note to select “Type B” CUFE (10034).
  3. Print the application form created at the last step of the application, and mail them along with all other hard copies to the Office of International Admissions, CUFE.
  4. The application fee of 500 RMB needs to be paid (See below transfer instructions).
  5. Short-listed candidates may attend an interview (online interview also available).

All documents submitted must be true, correct, and complete. CUFE reserves the right to reject offers of admission or expel enrolled students.


Candidates who have passed documents academic review will be invited to an interview. The date and location of the interview will be shared with the applicant via e-mail after the application period ends. Important message regarding acceptance letter and interview:

Acceptance letter is NOT NEEDED and therefore not needed in your profile. Applicants intending to attend online interviews have to download the app WeChat.
