Afghan nationals who are passionate about making the country better can apply to Code 4 Peace competition.

Code 4 peace competition organized by UN Women Afghanistan is the largest hackathon ever held in Afghanistan, focusing on women, peace and security. It is a 4 day program that selected participants will work on developing solutions to harnessing the voices of women from across Afghanistan on Peace and security. the One with the best Idea will get the first position and an award of 10,000 dollar.

Program purpose:

creating solutions for facilitating the women voice on peace and security in Afghanistan.  the program is designed to commit to a country-wide representation of women in Afghanistan, building upon the cultural diversity of Afghanistan. In addition, the program will enable women to use the technology most suitable for them for expressing their views on peace and security in Afghanistan

  • Afghan nationals passionate about bringing positive change in the Country
  • be strong advocate of women’s rights in Afghanistan
  • or interested in committing to building a gender-equal future for the country
  • Female and male can apply

a panel made of UN Women staff, civil society members and tech experts will select 80 participants based on the following criteria:

  • geographical representation
  • diversity of backgrounds
  • record of working on women’s right in Afghanistan
