Opportunity Description

The Climate Champions Team (CCT), with the support of the United Nations Climate Change High-Level Champions, is dedicated to consolidating youth agencies in climate action. The Agency believes that youth and future generations are environmental agents of the future, and elevating and empowering their voices will help drive systemic change.

The CCT seeks champions for its third cohort of determined, optimistic Youth Fellows. This program intends to create a pathway for professionals to work within the supporting team of the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for Conference of the Parties (COP27 and 28). The primary aim is to drive real-world momentum into the UN Climate Change negotiations.

As part of the Youth Fellowship program, fellows will join the CCT for a seven-month fellowship and will help mobilize climate action amongst non-State actors. This effort is toward achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement in collaboration with the UNFCCC, the Marrakech Partnership, and the COP Presidencies. The Fellows will be placed within the following:

  • The core Campaigns: Race to Zero and Race to Resilience;
  • Systems Transformation: critical sectoral work in Energy, Finance, Ocean, and Systems Tracking;
  • Stakeholder and Policy Engagement.

This paid fellowship program will include modules on personal leadership development, stakeholder meetings, mentoring, systems mapping, and horizon planning. The modules also include mobilization and outreach in broader networks, such as working with local, regional, and global youth organizations. Also, the fellows will work together to explore projects and outreach.
