Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following requirements to apply for the Chinse Government Scholarships:

• Applications are open to non-Chinese citizens;
• Be in good health condition;
• Hold a valid degree (Bachelor’s degree for Master applicants, Master’s degree for Ph.D. applicants);
• Meet the language requirements:

1. Chinese-Taught Program: At least HSK 5 for 210 or HSK 6 for 180. Applicants granted a bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Chinese-taught program at a Chinese university do not need to provide HSK evidence.
2. English-Taught Program: At least IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, or proof of an English-taught program during the previous degree. Native English speakers do not need to provide English Proficiency Certificate.

Required Materials and Documents

The application package comprises the following documents:

• Copy of passport photo page
• Transcripts of all undergraduate courses
• Copy of graduation and degree certificate of the highest education
• Proof of Chinese or English language proficiency
• Acceptance Letter
• Two English or Chinese recommendation letters from Professor or Associate Professor
• A minimum of 800 words study plan
• Detailed Research Proposal, if prepared
• Non-criminal record certificate, if not available, please sign Non-criminal Record Affirmation
• Certificate of no bad performance from university (Only for international students studying in China)
• Statement of Financial Support
• Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
• Additional supporting documents (e.g., published papers, awards, and certificates）
