The CGS-Bilateral Program (Chinese Government Scholarship) applications are now open at Changchun University of Science and Technology in 2023. This opportunity comprises a full or partial scholarship from China’s Ministry of Education (MOE). The primary goal of the CGS-Bilateral Program is to promote educational exchange agreements between the Chinese government and other countries governments, universities, and international organizations. Benefits of the CGS-Bilateral Program

CGS-Bilateral Program provides the following allowances at Changchun University of Science and Technology:

Eligibility Requirements for the CGS-Bilateral Program

Applicants should meet the following criteria to apply for the CGS-Bilateral Program:

• Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens of any nationality;
• Be in good health conditions;
• Undergraduate applicants should be under the age of 25 and provide a high school certificate;
• Master’s degree applicants should be under the age of 35 and provide a bachelor’s degree;
• Doctoral applicants must be under the age of 40 and provide a Master’s degree;
• For general scholar programs, applicants must be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
• Senior scholar programs applicants must be under 50, have a master’s degree, or be at least an associate professor or above.

Required Documents

Changchun University of Science and Technology will ask for all the application materials in the list below:

• Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form in Chinese or English;
• Copy of highest degree certificates
• Academic transcripts
• A Chinese or English Study Plan or Research Proposal with a minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 800 words for postgraduates, and 500 words for non-degree students;
• Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
• Legal guardians in China for those under 18 years old applicants;
• Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form issued within the last six months
• Certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued within the last six months
• Admission Letter from the University;
• Language proficiency certificates (HSK certificate);
• Copy of applicant’s passport
• For music studies, applicants should submit a CD of their works

Note: All documents should be in English or Chinese or have certified translations for documents that are not in the mentioned languages. Please attach a copy of all required documents because none are returnable.

How to Apply for the CGS-Bilateral Program?

Follow the instructions below to apply for the CGS-Bilateral Program:

• The application for the CGS-Bilateral Program is acceptable via dispatching authorities for overseas study in applicants’ home countries.
• After the dispatching authorities recommended the candidates, they should contact Changchun University of Science and Technology for Admission Letter.
• Then, recommended applicants should submit an online application at Chinse Scholarship Council (CSC) Online Application System for International Students and finally print a hard copy of the application form.
• Applicants should submit a complete application package, including all required documents, to the dispatching authorities in their home countries before the deadline.
• All applicants should note that the CSC does not accept individual applications but applications of the recommended applicants from the dispatching authorities.

Application Approval for CGS-Bilateral Program

Applications approval after submissions are as follows:

• CSC will review all recommended application documents from dispatching authorities.
• Next, CSC will directly forward the qualified applications to Changchun University of Science and Technology for recruitment.
• Once the University accepts the scholarship applicants, they will officially receive the Chinese Government Scholarship with approval from CSC. Each applicant will be only eligible for one scholarship program.
• CSC will send the List of Winners, Visa Application Form for Study in China, and Admission Letter to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in the applicants’ home countries. The embassy will forward the documents to the dispatching authorities or the scholarship winners before 31 July 2024.
• If applicants fail to register before the deadline for registration, they will not receive any scholarship.
