The Center for Ballet and Arts (CBA) of New York City offers fellowship for artists and scholars from around the world to participate in the program and develop a project expanding the way of thinking related to the ballet history, practice and performance in the current century. If you are a creative women leader (e.g. choreographers, composers) promoting gender equity in the field of dance, you can apply to this fellowship.

The fellowship provides full support to the fellows via providing:

  • Stipend of $2500 per week
  • Accessibility to the dance studio, office and conference room,
  • Accommodation
  • Round trip travel
  • J-1 visa facilitation

Who is eligible for this fellowship?

  • Be women creator such as composer, choreographer in the field of dance
  • Pursue a real project related to ballet
  • Demonstrate promise or important achievement in their field
  • Students are ineligible to apply

  • 2 work samples including document and video
  • 2 recommendation letter ( the recommendation form will be sent to referees)

What is expected from the fellows?

The fellows are expected to:

  • Work at the CBA for the majority of time being residing at the center
  • Present / lead a seminar or lecture on the research area
  • Participate at the weekly fellow seminars and CBA public events
  • Submission of feedback per request
