Overview of the award
Nominations are now open for the Diana Award 2023. The award is established in memory of Diana, the princess of wales, and is one of the prestigious awards a young person can receive for their social or humanitarian work. Furthermore, this award is bestowed upon courageous, inspiring, and passionate young individuals to recognize their efforts for positively transforming people’s lives. So, if you are one of those people, you are the right person to be nominated.

Benefits
There are two categories of awards and benefits:
INTERNATIONAL
Successful international nominees will be invited to a virtual event on our International Ceremony Day.
THE LEGACY AWARD
Both UK-based and international awardees of The Diana Award are also eligible for The Legacy Award, which takes place on a biennial basis. The next Legacy Award ceremony will take place in 2023.
There will be 20 Legacy Awards for the successful nominees.
The details of the Legacy Awards will be announced to the successful nominees in summer 2023, and the ceremony will take place in late 2023.
Eligibility
To be eligible for The Diana Award, nominees must:
- Be between the ages of 9 and 25.
- Have been doing their activities for a minimum of 12 months.
- The applicant must be nominated by a nominator for the award.
- Nominators must know the young person in a professional capacity, i.e., teacher, or youth worker.
- Nominations made by family members or those who relate to the nominee will not be accepted.

Evaluation
An external and regional panel of judges will review the applications and select the successful ones.
The judges will assess the nominees’ work based on the following criteria:
- VISION
How it demonstrates commitment and passion to the cause, evidenced through their service to that cause and through social action.
- YOUTH-LED
Demonstrates how the young person has led, owned, and initiated the activities they are nominating them for.
- INSPIRING OTHERS
Indicates that, through the nominee’s positive attitude and passionate approach to life, they are a role model to others.
- SOCIAL IMPACT
Produces positive social change that is beneficial to the wider community.
- SERVICE JOURNEY
Proof of transformation throughout the nominee’s service journey, including attitude, skills attained, and challenges overcome.
Note: all the above five criteria should be detailed in a 150-300 word count statement by the nominator.
How to nominate?
Nominators can nominate the nominees for this award online, but nominators are recommended to first review the Nomination Guide thoroughly and then complete the nomination form online.
In addition to the above-mentioned statements, nominators are also expected to upload a written statement (no more than 200 words) from their nominee’s service beneficiary along with their contact email address and full name.
