Job Description:

The incumbents will work to:

  • Review community health and hygiene promotion programs through periodic field visits and communicate with community members and community leaders.
  • Closely oversee the morbidity and mortality trends in communities.
  • Keep good coordination and communication with other pertinent stakeholders at the provincial level.
  • Represent IRC in all external health-related meetings, including clusters meetings and meetings leading and conductance by provincial DOPH.
  • Ensure proper collection and analysis of morbidity, mortality data related to health programs, at the provincial level.
  • Determine community health trends and create mitigation measures to tackle programmatic gaps and improve overall quality of community health activities.
  • Lead and carry out surveys and health assessments to specify gaps in community health promotion service provision in the impacted communities.
  • Ensure high-quality community health programs in conformity with national and international standards.
  • Ensure the provision and utilization of national health protocols, technically supervising the health staff and proposing training when required.
  • Ensure an effective referral system to secondary structures is in use and give feedback on referrals
  • Assure accurate and timely implementation of current health programs at the provincial level.
  • Write and submit internal and external reports as required to the Health Coordinator.
  • Technically oversee the health staff and provide regular technical support and training to build their skills and capacity.
  • Define clear performance objectives for staff. Conduct performance reviews and ensure that the health staff receives adequate training according to individual needs.

Job requirements:

1. Qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Medicine, Health, Community Health or Public Health or equivalent qualification,
  • At least 2 to 4 years relevant experience in health program management.
  • Ability to analyze data and write situation reports.
  • Be able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage human resources.
  • Experience in report writing
  • Ability to work under pressure and to catch deadlines and meet objectives.
  • Experience in conducting health assessment and survey.
  • Objective-oriented and flexible work attitude.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Outstanding computer skills: facility with MS Word, Excel, and email/internet software.
