About the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET-A/ASDPII):

The Government of Afghanistan has received a grant from the International Development Agency (IDA) for the Afghanistan Skills Development Project (ASDP II). The project aims to develop a high quality, equitable, market-responsive, and cost-effective technical and vocational education and training (TVET-A) system in order to raise the number of immediately employable Afghan graduates.

About the project

TVET-A with technical support from the World Bank has undertaken a Non-conventional Learning Approach for TVET-A Institutes. Based on the Government instruction, TVET-A establishes a small task force to both take preventive precautions to contain the spread of coronavirus within the organization as well as to work on a concept for delivery of TVET-A training during the emergency of COVID-19 pandemic. This work includes many changes in the functions of TVET-A, which also includes development, review, and updating of policies. To do this, TEVT-A has decided to hire 30 Data Entry Clerks to enhance its capacity.

Job Summary:

The data entry clerk’s tasks consist of typing different forms of information into computer databases and other applications. Also, this assignment involves supporting the curriculum department and planning department and MIS team to verify the inputted data collected related to students, teachers’ profile and statistical information, chapters, and Videos.

Also, He/ she is also in charge of supporting the TVET-A MIS team for providing accurate data entry into the system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The clerks will work to:

  • Input data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • Enter documents, chapters, notebooks, videos of distance learning into the MIS system.
  • Prepare and categorize documents for data entry.
  • Enter data into database software and ensure the correctness of the data that has been recorded according to the rule and mechanism of the TVET-A MIS.
  • Resolve differences in information and obtain further information for incomplete documents.
  • Create spreadsheets with big numbers of statistics without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update available data on a periodic basis
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as required
  • carry out regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.

Job Requirement:

  • A high school diploma, bachelor’s degree will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with a High school diploma

  Skills and competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Robust interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliberate for extensive hours and perform exactly with adequate speed.
  • Strong touch-typing skills.
  • Fluency in one of the local languages (Pashto/Dari) and familiarity (written and verbal) with the English language.
