Job summary:

IRC is looking for 10 individuals as Emergency Response Assistant for the above provinces. Eligible applicants can read the details below and apply accordingly.

Job Description:

  • Under the supervision of the project officers, conduct rapid assessments, market surveys, community level and household assessments to a high technical standard with the use of agreed tools and methodology.
  • Prepare initial assessment reports when required.
  • Support in other weekly and monthly plans and reports.
  • Make sure the beneficiaries’ selection is based on project criteria.
  • Assist in planning and conducting emergency cash distributions following agreed Distribution SoPs.
  • Coordinate with M&E to ensure distribution and Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) is done for each caseload.
  • Establish good relations and coordination with community elders and beneficiaries’ representatives in the program’s targeted areas.
  • Any other duties as delegated by the Emergency Response Officers or relevant project supervisor.

Job requirements:

1. Qualifications and competencies:

  • Associate/Technical or Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
  • Minimum two years of experience working with local or international NGOs, with one year in emergency programming.
  • Experience in the management of data collection and recording.
  • Familiarity with the provincial context, culture, traditions and its sensitivity.
  • Working and coordination experience with the government and the local community.
  • Strong communication skills; fluency in Dari and Pashto required and good knowledge of English is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MS office.
  • Ability to work under stress, difficult circumstances, and meet the deadline.
  • Flexibility and readiness to relocate at short notice, outside the normal area of operations, and for short periods of time (the position is 90% field-based).
