Canada Announces 2025–2026 Immigration Plan

Over 40% of new permanent residents in 2025 are expected to be individuals already living in Canada—mainly former international students or temporary workers transitioning to permanent status.

The Express Entry system will prioritize candidates with strong French language proficiency and experience in sectors such as health care, skilled trades, education, and social services.

Humanitarian Support and Refugee Resettlement

  • 12,000 refugees from Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific
  • 4,000 refugees from the Americas
